Heated Indoor Pool

Enjoy swimming year-round! With an indoor, heated pool, the Y is a great place for a day of fun in the pool, swimming or an aquacise workout.

Lap Lanes are 25 yards long
One mile = 66 laps
Shallow end depth: zero entry to 3 feet
Lap Lane depth: 4.6 feet to 7.6 feet
If a swimmer age 13 years or under wants to use a lap lane, the lifeguard on duty will administer a swim test. If the lifeguard does not feel the individual is an adequate swimmer, he/she reserves the right to ask the individual not to be in the lap lane area.
The use of lap lanes for recreational purposes is prohibited during peak hours.
Maximum number of swimmers per lap lane is 3.
Circle swim is required when sharing a lap lane.
No hanging on the lap lane ropes.
On a limited basis Joplin Family Y programming may require the use of all 3 lap lanes. It is our desire to keep one lap lane open at all times. Please see General Pool Hours.

Children 8 and under must have a guardian 16+ years old in the water with them.
Children ages 9 – 15 must have a guardian 16+ years old on the pool deck.
At the lifeguard’s discretion, if space allows, properly used flotation devices are allowed.
Children using any flotation device must remain in the shallow end of the pool.
No gum, food or drink is allowed in the pool area.
Public appropriate and proper swim attire must be worn.
No diving, running, pushing, dunking, splashing or horseplay allowed.
No timed holding breath under water.
Swimmers are required to shower before entering the pool.
Swim diapers are required for children who are not toilet-trained.
Only lifeguards are allowed on the lifeguard island.

Due to the high volume of members in the pool and for the safety of our members and our lifeguards:
- Lap Lanes will be closed for Programming: Mondays and Wednesdays 10:00 am – 10:45 am
