Art Explorers (age 3 years old - 6th grade)

This class is a hands-on introduction to the world of art. Participants explore textures, colors and shapes as well as engage in drawing, painting and sculpting. CREATE!

Art Express (ages 3 - 6)

Kidtime Area, South Y

This is a 45-minute class of fun and exciting, age-appropriate projects . . .make‘em and take‘em! This class is incorporated into Kidtime at the south Y facility. Your paid receipt is your ticket on the Art Express.

Photography (age 15 - adult)

Conference Room, Downtown Y 

In this class we go over the basics of photography: lighting, combining and set-up, creating a scene and portrait photography. Students should bring their own digital cameras. Some classes are held off site.

Basic Drawing (1st grade - adult)

Teen Center, Downtown Y 

Participants learn multiple, basic drawing techniques through exploration of different drawingmedia and surfaces. Instruction covers such areas as sketching, foliage, shading, buildings, 3D shapes and more.

CreativeWriting (3rd - 8th grades)

Conference Room, Downtown Y 

This course takes a student-centered approach to creative writing, offering a range of strategies to help students develop as writers. It encourages them to value their own resources of memory, observation and voice. The emphasis is highly practical, with exercises and activities designed to ignite and sustain the writing impulse.

ClayWorking (1st - 6th grades)

Teen Center, Downtown Y 

Students engage in a fun and exciting tactile experience by creating with clay and learning the basics of clay working. This class teaches shape concepts, molding and texture.

Painting (1st grade - adult)

Teen Center, Downtown Y

In this class we encourage students to bring their imagination to create and explore with color and paint. Participants are exposed to a variety of painting theory, surfaces and materials. Classes include brushes, mixing colors, texture, lighting and more.

Home School Art (1st - 6th grades)

Teen Center, Downtown Y 

Students learn the elements of art through various curriculum-based lessons and various media... an all-around art experience.

Art Party

Call to schedule 

In this two-hour art party, choices of themes and activities are flexible and not limited to those listed here: clay (boxes, tiles, banks, animals, sports), beads (necklaces, bracelets, earrings), maskmaking, superheroes, messy paint party andmore!
