Downtown Facility

TO OUR VALUED MEMBERS: In December 2008, the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act became effective for all public pool and spa facilities.  This Act set forth guidelines regarding pool and spa drains in these facilities, as well as several other safety guidelines. 

Your safety is of the utmost importance to the Joplin Family Y.  Thus, we are pleased to announce that the pools at both of our locations are in compliance with this Act. 

Unfortunately, bringing our spas into compliance is an impossibility at this time.  The cost to replace the spas is too prohibitive, and we will not operate a spa that is not safe for our members or out of compliance with federal, state or local laws. 

Thus, we regret to inform you that we are closing our spa facilities in the locker rooms of the Wall Facility until further notice.
