I’m not sure how it all happened exactly. Maybe it was one big meal after another. “I’ll start eating healthy tomorrow,” I’d say. Extra cookies here and there. Just one more plate full of dinner, scoop of ice cream or late night snack.
What’s just a few more?
272 pounds of “just a few more”– that was not good. Something had to change. At that weight, my knees and feet were hurting every day. I had a hard time getting, up and it felt like I was out of breath all the time at doing even the most simple of tasks.
My husband and I decided to get a Y membership, and while he worked out upstairs, I was down in the pool in Milton’s Aquacise class.
Whether I felt like it or not, if it was class day, I was there, no matter the weather. If the pool was closed for some reason, I headed upstairs because I knew that I always felt better after class or working out. I held onto that good feeling on those days when I felt I’d rather be home instead of working out.
I knew people took weight off for special events in their life. But what happens after that event comes and goes? I had to be sure that if I was going to do this and keep the weight off for good, I had to make this a lifestyle change.
I am pleased to say that with the help and support of my wonderful husband David, Milton’s Aquacise class at the Y and learning to eat healthier and control my portions by using MyFitnessPal App, I have managed to take off 75 pounds!
I have cleaned out my closet a few times, and I donated those clothes (no matter how cute they were) because I’m never going back to that weight,
I feel ABSOLUTELY AMAZING now!!
The healthy me is here to stay!
