After meeting with Karen, I knew she would be the one who could train me for my first race. She evaluated my running history and was attentive to my needs. She even encouraged me to run the half marathon at Joplin Memorial because she knew my capabilities even though I doubted being able to run the distance.
Karen developed a plan specific to my needs in order for me to accomplish my goals, helped me find a solution to any running issues I had, and most importantly, encouraged me with my running even between our sessions. She also discussed strength training techniques and speed drills that helped me in my running.
With Karen’s help, I was able to run my first half marathon in 2 hours and 8 minutes—a time that I never thought possible. She had more faith in me than I had in myself.
With Karen’s encouragement, I have now run several 5K races, a half marathon and most recently a 25K, all within a year of starting training with Karen. I have even set personal records on my pace and have placed in my age group with a few times getting 1st in my age group.
I would highly recommend Karen as a running coach to anyone. Whether you are a beginner or have ran for several years, her dedication, knowledge and encouragement can help you accomplish your goals.
