Who We Are
The nation’s 2,400 YMCA's are together the largest not-for-profit community service organizations in America. We work to meet the health and social service needs of 17.5 million men, women and children in 10,000 communities.
The Joplin Family Y was founded in 1891. We are a member-supported, not-for-profit organization created by the community and committed to serving the community of Joplin, MO. We are also committed to building strong kids, strong families and strong communities through two facilities serving approximately 12,700 members and more than 180,000 program participants per year.
Diversity
YMCAs stretch beyond the United States. YMCAs are at work in more than 120 countries around the world, serving more than 30 million people. About 230 YMCAs within the United States maintain relationships with Ys in other countries.
Y's are for people of all faiths, races, abilities, ages and incomes. The YMCA's strength is in the people we bring together.
